Everyone knows how love stories are supposed to go: sweeping melodies, heartfelt declarations, a magical evening that ends with the perfect match. On Valentine's Day 2026, Chorus Polaris invites you to Love, Chorus Polaris (A Symphony of Love and Light) — our intimate afternoon gala concert and silent auction in the Art Gallery of the historic Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church.
You'll arrive expecting the familiar: soaring choral renditions of timeless love songs that tug at the heartstrings, celebrating romance in all its tender glory. But as the afternoon unfolds, a whisper of mystery emerges. What if the greatest love stories aren't the ones we think we know? What if the real magic lies hidden, waiting years to be revealed?
This Valentine's, we're unveiling a long-guarded secret. A highlight of our program is Warren Martin's 1955 gem, The True Story of Cinderella — a hilarious, heartwarming comic opera that's been a cherished "cult classic" among choral insiders for decades. It's not the fairy tale you remember from childhood. No simple slipper-fitting and midnight escape here.
In our smaller venue, with only limited tickets available, this is an exclusive performance where voices intertwine to solve love's greatest mystery. And the adventure continues with our silent auction fundraiser. Alongside the music, there are treasures waiting to be discovered: bid on curated items and experiences — from local artisan gifts to romantic experiences. Who knows? You could spark your own unexpected Valentine's story while supporting Chorus Polaris' mission to bring inspiring choral music to our community.
Curious? The truth awaits...
