After retiring from a military career, David Hood set out to find something fun, creative, and meaningful to do as a civilian. To his surprise, he discovered it didn’t exist — at least, it didn't for him! So, he began composing music and returned to nonprofit work, eventually serving on the boards of several civic and nonprofit performing arts organizations.

David and his wife, Elaine, currently reside in south-central Minnesota, where they share their home with four cats - each named after a famous composer, naturally.

He and Elaine have four children who, true to the phrase, now live “from sea to shining sea.”
