Chorus Polaris Announces Auditions for the 2026-27 Season

Chorus Polaris, a 60-voice community chorus that is itself a community, announces auditions for the 2026-27 season. With an even spread of ages and musical experience, we sing with heart and a commitment to excellence. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, 7:00-9:00 pm at First Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights beginning September 8, 2026.

Audition Dates and Location

Auditions will be held at the residence of Artistic Director Bill Mathis on the following dates:

  • August 28
  • August 29
  • September 1

Applicants who are unable to attend on these dates may request an alternate appointment by contacting the Artistic Director at director@choruspolaris.org.

The first rehearsal of the season will be 7:00–9:00 pm on September 8, 2026,

2026–27 Season Repertoire

This season features a diverse and substantial body of choral literature:

  • November 21 — The Creation (Haydn), with chamber orchestra and soloists
  • February (date TBA) — A program honoring the resilience of the Columbia Heights community
  • April 3 — Five Mystical Songs (Vaughan Williams), with Mississippi Valley Orchestra
  • May 23 — A concert of choral masterworks spanning three centuries, including:

We welcome both returning members and new applicants who wish to contribute to the ensemble’s musical and community mission. We encourage singers who are eager to engage with significant repertoire and a committed ensemble to audition.
